- 3. _C_h_a_n_g_e_s__a_n_d__A_d_d_i_t_i_o_n_s
-
- +o The pre-configured fasttrack server is now named
- /_u_s_r/_n_s-_h_o_m_e/_h_t_t_p_d-<_h_o_s_t _n_a_m_e> rather than /_u_s_r/_n_s-
- _h_o_m_e/_h_t_t_p_d-_f_a_s_t_t_r_a_c_k. This follows the Netscape
- convention.
-
- +o There is no longer a fasttrack.options file used by
- /_e_t_c/_i_n_i_t._d/_n_s__f_a_s_t_t_r_a_c_k to contain the list of servers
- to be started and stopped. This is now done internally
- to the script.
-
- +o All instances of FastTrack servers are now
- automatically re-configured if fundamental system
- information changes, i.e., host name, IP address,
- domain name.
-
- +o The default server configuration is now 1 process, 1
- thread minimum, and 8 threads maximum. There is now a
- 'Personal On' flag in the /_u_s_r/_n_s-_h_o_m_e/_h_t_t_p_d-
- <_s_e_r_v_e_r>/_c_o_n_f_i_g/_m_a_g_n_u_s._c_o_n_f file. Do _n_o_t change these
- values until you read Chapter 2 of these release notes.
-
- +o The following server mime.type changes were made for
- compatibility with the Netscape server's mime.types
- files:
-
- +o application/x-ns-proxy-autoconfig suffix changed
- from .pac to .proxy
-
- +o application/x-framemaker was changed to
- application/x-maker and it's suffixes no longer
- support .doc - .doc now means application/msword
-
- +o application/x-insight no longer supports .ins as a
- suffix, .ins now means application/x-NET-Install
-
- +o The Fasttrack Server is no longer licensed.
-
- +o The following products are now dependent upon the the
- Netscape FastTrack server running on port 80 and in
- particular on its document root being /_v_a_r/_w_w_w/_h_t_d_o_c_s.
- Depending upon the product, all or some of its
- functionality may be lost.
